This Month At Shady Oaks Baptist

In The Beginning . A New Sermon Series

Sunday, January 8 we begin a new sermon series taking us on a year-long journey through the Bible that will begin in the book of Genesis and end in the book of Revelation.  Our goal this year throughout each sermon series is to see our church members Centered on God’s Word and Sent into God’s World.  Who will you invite to attend our Sunday services?  I hope we can all be intentional and make inviting to church a priority.  This is a great time of the year to invest and invite.

The Art of Marriage Conference 13669223_10209710571792261_6900769445554595154_n

Marriage, the way God intended it to be, is a true art form.  That’s why for more than 40 years, FamilyLife has been helping couples understand God’s plan for relationships.  The Art of Marriage weaves together expert teaching, real-life stories, humorous vignettes, and more to portray both the challenges and the beauty of God’s design.  On Saturday, January 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Chris and Mary Herndon will lead us to discover the true art of marriage.

Night Of Prayermonkimage-php

I think we can all agree that it’s time for our nation to return to the LORD God and to pray!  After the Presidential Inauguration, Shady Oaks Baptist Church is hosting a Night of Prayer for our Nation on Sunday, January 22 at 5:30 p.m.  This is going to be a powerful night of worship and prayer.  We will gather as a church family and a community to sing and give praise to God, and pray for our nation, our leaders, and our city!  I hope you will make an effort to INVITE your family and friends!
