Praying For Our Nation


Thomas Paine once said, “These are the times that try men’s souls.”  Paine’s words still ring true today.

I believe this is one of the most important times in our history as American Christians. Today in America, we are in need of a Revival from God!  Revival begins when Christian men and women get on our knees and pray for our nation.  Abraham Lincoln once said, “I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go.  My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for that day.”

On Sunday, January 22 at 5:30 p.m. Shady Oaks Baptist Church is holding A Night of Prayer for our Nation.  This comes just two days after the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States, and one day before he takes office.

During this Night of Prayer, we will sing praises to God, pray for our nation, and the many challenges we currently face.  We will also be praying for the leadership of our nation, state, and city.  Finally we will pray for God to raise up churches in our cities to make a Gospel Impact.
